The economic impact is in the millions.”We bring in thousands of staff and book up the hotels and we hire thousands locally to run our security, be our bartenders, to serve our food,” McCurry said.Big shows like this one are part of an effort by the Speedway to make the stadium a more varied venue for events beyond racing. On the heels of “Welcome to Rockville” will be Daytona Coccerfest over the 4th of July weekend, a family-friendly event with world-class international soccer matches.The speedway’s expertise at entertaining, accommodating large crowds and its very infrastructure makes it easy for other producers to be successful here. Rockville had its first run in Daytona Beach in 2021 and officials say it went so well that they added acts for 2022 and will likely continue to add on.
