The Belgian style and design studio WeWantMore has turned the Château de Vignée in the Ardennes into an aesthetically fascinating boutique resort. The Château de Vignée is located in the Belgian Ardennes and is surrounded by open meadows and dense forests. Deeply rooted in the area, it acted as a meeting location for hunters for centuries. The former hunting lodge has now been transformed into a boutique resort and the layout team discovered a special way to reinterpret the rustic appeal of a property that was designed in 1658. The premises are abundant in depth, their structure now motivated as significantly by the austere splendor of surrounding nature as by their extravagant, 19th century inheritance. The picked materials, lights concepts and colour techniques just take a great deal of their inspiration from the surrounding landscape – whilst playfully organized stuffed animals evoke the Château’s background with a twinkle in the eye.
Together with extensively refurbished and restored rooms, the developing offers a bar and lounge, a large-course restaurant and a spa spot. The spacious loos in the junior suites are characterised by marble and whitewashed plaster walls. The undermount basins of the Alape Metaphor collection match seamlessly into the inside structure. Their decreased, linear sort produces an atmosphere of clarity and framework. Metaphor is complemented congenially by the Dornbracht vintage Tara. The colour applied for the fittings and basins is Black matt: the dim end contrasting wonderfully with the spectacular graining of the marble. The geometric purity of the layout mirror by Alape and the Aid floating shelf technique total the arrangement.
Anthracite coloured marble was the predominant influence in the loos of the excellent rooms. The counter-top rated basins on the washstands appear from the Alape Unisono collection. Glazed metal, with its non-porous and immaculate complete in a content that is only 3 mm thick, sets a hugely ornamental and delicate tone here. The round form of the basin also harmonises stylishly with the similarly round structure mirror. The Black matt finishes of the Alape basins and Dornbracht’s common Tara fitting exert a calming effect in combination with the refined shade of the marble – and bring a perception of intimacy and class to the inside of the home.
