Queen Elizabeth Ship Gets the Verandah Instead of Todd English

Have you ever enjoyed the Todd English Restaurant experience on either the Queen Mary 2 ship, or the Queen Victoria ship? Wasn’t it just a fabulous experience and something that you remembered longer than other things on your cruise on the ship?

Well that sort of dining experience is going to be taken to a new level in the new Queen Elizabeth ship. Not only does the Queen Elizabeth ship becomes the newest ship with the oldest name it will be reinstating an exclusive name in a new setting on board: The Verandah Restaurant. The Verandah Restaurant on the new Queen Elizabeth ship takes the name of the first restaurant on the original Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth ships that was enjoyed by both Royalty (The Duke and Duchess of Windsor) and film stars (Rita Hayworth and Clark Gable). This restaurant was for the exclusive use of first class passengers and its full name was the Verandah Grill.

In the new Queen Elizabeth ship the splendour and glamour of the Verandah Grill be re instated to give a creative, contemporary, restaurant in a classical Art Deco setting that takes its cues from the original Verandah Grill. Fine Wedgewood china will add to the fine dining experience.

Cunard are renown for both the quality of service and food they have on their ships – ‘the finest dining at sea’. The Verandah will be taking this quality of service and food and adding a fabulous setting on board for passengers to have an exclusive night out on board by experiencing different food in a different setting.

The food will be fabulous too with the Michelin Award winning chef Jean-Marie Zimmerman designing the French cuisine. Each dish will highlight a region of France and will consist of the finest products and freshest that can be found. The restaurant will be one that adds an additional restaurant experience to the main restaurants of the Queen Elizabeth ship. Therefore it is classed as ‘an additional fine dining experience’. This means to experience it will mean a small surcharge to use it. But on the Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria Ship the $25 dollars extra per head for the Todd English restaurant hasn’t been a problem to most passengers once they have experienced the best dining experience on board.

Overall the restaurant will give the Queen Elizabeth Ship that exclusive difference over its follow Queen Ships in that it will have’ The Verandah’ where guests can enjoy contemporary cuisine with the finest food and really have that ‘finest dining experience in the World at sea’.
